Century 21 name means be cautious

We thought we were dealing with a large reputable company, but according to Century 21, they have no responsibility for people who use their name or logo. We contracted Century 21 Advantage in Sarasota, FL to manage our rental property and 2 months later the business closed and they took the money for a whole years rent from our tenants and we have only seen 1 month of it minus their commission. Century 21's response was that the franchise had not paid it's dues in almost a year and therefore hold no responsibility for the franchise's problems. Here is an article about what the franchise did: http://www.heraldtribune.com/article/2011****/article/11072****?tc=ar And here is Century 21's response to a letter sent regarding the problem and my response: From: "Barnes, Anita" Date: 17/08/2011 22:20 Subject: RE: C21 Response 0324**** Thank you for contacting Century 21 Real Estate, LLC I am in receipt of your letter regarding the issues raised concerning the former CENTURY 21(r) franchise, CENTURY 21 Advantage. We regret that you have had an experience with a CENTURY 21 franchise that was less than what you had expected. Advantage was one of the independently owned and operated franchises that make up the CENTURY 21 System. We therefore, are unable to take responsibility for or dictate each office's conduct in its day-to-day business. As an independent contractor, the former owner, Mr. Al Deering, is the appropriate party to whom your concerns need to be expressed. The CENTURY 21 Corporate office possesses a sincere interest and dedication in making certain that the utmost quality service is delivered to each one of its franchisee's clients and customers. Please do understand that we are not in any position to speak for, or against the franchisee. Please do not interpret this letter as an admission or denial of liability regarding the dispute. Once again, we truly regret that your experience with the CENTURY 21 System was disappointing. We hope that this matter will be resolved in an appropriate fashion and to the satisfaction of all parties involved. Thank you for bringing your situation to our attention. Sincerely, Anita Barnes Consumer Affairs Dear Ms. Barnes, We are sorry to hear that the Century 21 name is not representative of a company that is concerned about the proper treatment of it's customers. We were mislead to believe that dealing with a large name such as yours would provide a better quality of service than just a local realtor. Since Century 21 apparently does nothing to insure that the realtors that use the Century 21 name in their own business name, on their literature and even cash checks made out to Century 21, are keeping their licenses up and following the required laws, we have no confidence in working with anyone displaying the Century 21 name in the future. We will certainly discourage our families, friends and any others that we care about against making the same mistake we have done. -- Daniel

Century 21 employee ethical issue RAZI KHAN ***

His name is Razi Khan he goes out using his work credtintinals to get underage girls he had many accounts such as rate desi, desi planet, hi5 and my space where he was meeting up with underage girls. there is one victim he fondles her *** and was about to touch her gential area she at the time was 15 and he was 20. This employe is a disgrace to Century 21 I would not want to buy a house from this company ever due to the fact their are no ethical boundaries. Instead of firing this employee they are giving him rewards I am sure there are more victims out there.

Century 21 Barrie Ontario -False advertising

Air Miles False advertising- Century 21 Barrie Ontario Canada Kelly Brown, a sale representative for Century 21 in Barrie advertises Air Miles, like all representatives of Century 21. I saw that advertisement on her web site. Last November, she refused to give me my Air miles once the sale of our family house was completed. According to her 'the Air Miles cost too much money to purchase'. I sent a complaint letter to the owner, B. J. Roth on February 28 2011 registered mail item# 795********. He choose to ignore my letter. I recommend that you do not use Century 21 in Barrie for that reason. Sylvie L.S.

All you idiots praising Kelly Brown are sucking slough water, you *** licking bunch of Eskimos.

Did Miss Brown pay the airmiles?

Don't you find it odd that Kelly has so many so called "satisfied clients" and letters of recommendations on this site and her own website, yet on her site she only has one home listed as sold? One must assume that either her website isn't up to date, or that her transactions were all "leases", which did not entitle the patrons to air miles, or to have experience in any of this, making their testimonials irrelevant. If so, that would mean she's 1: 1 on the sale/air miles ratio!

Alternatively, these testimonials could be yet another form of FALSE ADVERTISING.

What ever happened? Did you ever receive a response from Kelly Brown or from the broker?

Did you ever receive your Air Miles?

Or did you receive some other form of compensation/payment?

Please let us know the outcome. Thanks for sharing your story. Good luck.

In May 2011 I had a similar experience with Century 21 in Oakville, Ontario. My transactions were upwards of $3 million dollars, so my rewards should have entitled me to a trip for 2 to Europe. So imagine my surprise when my agent called me (after both my properties closed and they had all my money), appealing to my kind-hearted nature as she attempted to negotiate me out of my rewards.

Let’s face it, to share 6% commission in one of the world’s strongest real estate markets is a pretty attractive draw for agents. For that, clients expect an educated representative with integrity to manage our expectations during one of our most stressful life events....moving!

There are so many formal processes and governing bodies established to protect all parties throughout this process. Yet the Air Miles scenario is vague and subjective. And in my opinion, when an agent takes the high road after the fact, than they demonstrated loud and clear their true colours and demeanour...that they don’t have the integrity or ethics that’s required to sustain, which includes a quantifiable, satisfied client referral base.

At what point did Ms. Kelly Brown decide she couldn’t afford to pay her share for these air miles? As a new real estate agent, I would assume that Ms. Brown was unaware that in this new forum, she would be held accountable to deliver on her promises, and that she responsible for her actions. It’s called INTEGRITY.

Ms. Brown may have been able to appeal to the sympathetic nature of her previous career client base, and subsequently play the ignorance or pity party card, but that just doesn’t fly in today’s real world. In addition, it’s absolutely unacceptable that the broker (B.J.Roth) chose to ignore the complaint and left Ms. Brown out to dry! They shared in the commissions; they should also share in dealing with this. Clearly they advertise Air Miles on their sites, and continue to do so.

Hopefully they now appreciate the power of the internet, learned their lesson and ceased their FALSE ADVERTISING !!!!

Air Miles? really, let's not waist our time with that disaster.

I have had the honour of using Ms.Brown in an estate transaction and she has been absolutely a pleasure to work with. Punctual, respectful and by the book!

Did she sell your house? that's what it comes down to. And for the record if you lodge a complaint against someone please present all the facts, not just yours.

This complaint is just silly. I have dealt with Kelly for years and she is nothing but professional and honest.

I met Kelly Brown from Century 21 last year after walking into the Barrie office and was instantly impressed by her honesty. Her professionalism and dedication far exceeded our expectations.

She is a great agent and works very hard for her clients! I would highly recommend Kelly Brown and am shocked at the posted complaint.

How professional to read comments such as these. Having discussed real estate and market demands with Ms. Kelly Brown for a number of years, it's appalling, and unwarranted, to read ill remarks such as these.

She is the most professional, personable and easy going person that gives nothing less than 110% to her clients in ensuring their purchase will be a smooth as possible.

You will not be disappointed in trusting Ms. Brown to help you make an informed decision when making one of the biggest decisions of your life.

Answer the question...was the issue resolved?

Were the air miles paid?

If so, by who, the agent, the broker, or both?

Dazzling with misleading information is FRAUD.

If she has so many positive real estate transactions...why are they listed on her website? Duh, because they didn't, don't exist.

Guest

I have used Kelly for 2 of my Real Estate purchases. I purchased a cottage 2 years ago and contacted her again when I was ready to purchase my current home that I now reside in.

Kelly was very knowledgable, not to mention considerate.

There was never an issue in regards to Air Miles. Kelly will always be my #1 when I think of Real Estate.

Contrary to the above complaint I delt with Kelly Brown in the Sale of my home during a very stressful time in my life, she was not only a good real estate agent but understood my needs and was extremly helpful. I would recommend Kelly to all my friends as she is a very wonderful person..

Century 21 Property Management in Apple Valley, CA

Conflict of interest: If you do not use the house cleaning and carpet cleaning company they recommend, kiss your deposit good bye. I do not recommend this company. But don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. They do not understand their own contract, it states in part, that deposit refunds should be returned within 21 days, after receiving your keys, this does not mean on that day or after the 21 days. After the initial inspection before moving, the property manager makes a decision as to what should be done in order for you to receive your deposit back. However, after moving out you are not allowed to be present for the second inspection, where the decision is made re-clean the carpet or the house. therefore not allowing you the opportunity to reclean or rebutt their decision. Rent from them at your own risk!!!!!

Century 21 in grande cache alberta they rented out my property and they gave back all there damage.

They were suppose to sell my home and when they didn't I decided to rent it and they were being paid to look after my propery. However they left and they left my house dirty and damaged my new stove. I brought it to there attention and they were rude to me and they said they would not give me any money back. I really don't think they charged them any damage and now they told me that I should not rent any property cause I'm too fussy. They owe me money and I was not treated properly.

Century 21 Flamingo Took my money

Beware of crooks and empty promises when dealing with this compay. Century 21 Flamingo realty in Pembroke Florida took my $500 dollars for a real estate appraisal that was supposed to be sent back when they sold the timeshare. I was told they would be able to sell my timeshare the weekend I signed up with them. It would be "no problem." I only had to send them the 500 dollars up front. I was never contacted by this company with any offers by buyers and continually had to call them to find out what the status was. Five years later (after me calling them again) they finally send me to someone who sells it and now they are claiming that the selling price included my 500. I was NEVER told this at any time. Now they won't send me my money. I did turn them in to the BBB so hopefully they will resolve this issue.

I agree with this consumer. We did the same thing with Century21 Flamingo.

They took our money, never called us, we had to call them. We were told if it did not sell, we would get our money back...that's a laugh!

This is such a rip off...and I always liked Century 21, I purchased my home through them quite a time ago. So, get my money back..bah!!!

Guest

Run away from TSBO. They told me they could move my Aruba Marriott timeshare that weekend and took my money.

Two years later they still had not sold it and wanted more money for an eBay auction. Like an *** I gave them the money and there was a buyer on eBay. TSBO could not close the deal and would not give back my money.

Every time they contacted me they wanted more money. Crooks.

Guest

I have not sold a timeshare but have used realtors enough to know not to trust a single sentence coming from their mouths!

Guest

I am in the same boat...They said they would sell my timeshare in no time at all. It has been 2 months and nothing.

No calls, no offers, nothing.l called them to check the status and they lowered the price by $7,000 and still nothing. I feel like I will never see my $500 again.

I was recently contacted by timeshares by owner and they are telling me the same story. They guarantee the sale in 30 days.

But now instead of $500 they want $1300!! I am very weary of paying any more money but I need to get rid of this timeshare immediately!

Has anyone dealt with Timeshares by Owner that can share their experience? Thanks!

Century 21 Shamrock Realty

Unethical Business Practices. Failure to disclose water, septic/sewer inspections. Breach of dual representation contract. Failure to refund 1,000 dollar escrow payment. Unknowingly recored themselves (sellers agent, buyers agent and broker/owner) on answering machine, laughing making fun of our family, made reference to physical threats, while under contract with us. They were fired immediately. One of the agents stalked my family and trespassed on the property we were renting. When confronted with our concerns/allegations they could have cared less! No apologies were ever given and their poor behavior continued. Do not use them to buy or sell your home! Abusive mortgage collection

Yes I am 2 months behind on a trailer payment. I called the century 21 mortgage company to make arrangements to pay and catch up. the gentleman that answered the phone was very nice. then he put his manager on who started the conversation with a nice attitude then told me he couldn't accept my offer and rudely asked when i could be out of my trailer. that they were going to start a foreclosure. When i tried to tell him my problems he just kept on talking rudely and wouldn't give me a chance to tell him that my work hours were cut and i was also trying to make car payments and utilities and food. I finally had to get loud to get his attention. He asked why I was getting loud and i said he was rude and loud to me so I had to get defensive back. he asked me if i made a car payment and I said yes because i need to keep my vehicle to get back and forth to work and he said that made him mad and asked me when I could vacate the house. I told him the trailor was on my property, he asked if the trailor was wrapped up in the properety and I said no. i own the property, and if he was going to foreclose, he needed to get the trailor off my property since he was not going to work with me.
